Not only should presidential press secretaries be punished for lying, so should EVERY elected official, and all appointees, employees, and functionaries of all descriptions. Lying to congress is a punishable offense, and lying to the citizens of the United States should carry severe penalties as well! Immediate firing, heavy fines, and imprisonment would be appropriate, IMO!
