Regulations are to liberty what a chainsaw is to a tree. Every time a regulation is born an option dies. The power of the state gets bigger and the control individuals have over their own life gets smaller. …….. The government should not be allowed to take money at gunpoint, only to give to someone else. That is what a thief does. Tax money should only be spent on the necessary function of government. No wonder we have the word politics. Poli = many. tics = blood suckers. ……… For years, California politicians shuffled generous subsidies attempting to bolster the market for EVs. Now, the plan is an acknowledged failure so Newsom’s move is to ban the superior alternative (the chainsaw approach). Mandates are required when persuasion has no chance ……….. Don’t confuse rationalization with reason. Rationalization is what lawyers do. Reason is what the jury is asked to do. Rationalization is what politicians do. Reason is what voter must do. Anyone can rationalize anything but reason must withstand logic. ……… Inflation is a tax on reckless spending. It doesn’t happen otherwise. ………. Why do politicians lie? Because voters want the impossible and only a liar can promise it. ………. Pennies and nickels cost more to produce than they are actually worth, much like the politicians that routinely waste them. ………. But, don’t fret too much about government waste. Milton Friedman liked to point that if not for government waste, we would all be slaves by now. ………. Officials at Vanderbilt University were so upset after an article pointed out much they were making off transgender surgeries, they took down their website and cancelled both their two-for-one mastectomy deal and a flash sale on castrations. ……….. Who is it that writes Joe Biden’s teleprompter and the notes Karine Jean-Pierre reads at press conferences, and will they run for reelection? …………. In 1940, the average cost of a loaf of bread was 10 cents and the highest denomination of U.S. currency was the $100,000 bill. In 2022, the average loaf costs $4 and the highest denomination is the $100 bill. At what point do you figure the two will intersect and do you get the writing on the wall? ………. In navigating through life, understanding the course is far more valuable than the capacity for speed. ………. Don’t like unsolicited advice? Then, don’t complain. That is what usually provokes it. …………

I agree! As far as so many politicians proving to be serial liars, isn't it interesting that it's a crime to lie to congress or the fbi, (I refuse to capitalize at this time because neither deserves any respect whatsoever) but no problem if you lie to your constituents and the whole of the citizenry of the United States. That, in my view, should be a hanging offense!
